Langhe Nebbiolo Prinsiot 2024
The Langhe Nebbiolo "Prinsiòt" by Fratelli Alessandria is a highly personal and deeply heritage-driven wine. Its name pays tribute to the estate's own history, as “Prinsiòt” is the historic family nickname in the local Piedmontese dialect. Crafted since its debut in 1964, this exceptional red wine is designed with a clear, focused goal: to highlight the natural elegance and aromatic refinement of the Nebbiolo grape, shaping its tannic structure to be remarkably silky, balanced, and graceful from the very start.
The grapes are sourced from young vines with an average age of roughly 10 years, spread across a total surface of about 1 hectare in the premium village of Verduno. The rows are nestled within celebrated estate crus: Neirane (facing West at 330–400 meters in altitude), Pisapola (facing Southeast at 280–350 meters), and Sotto Orti (facing West at 270–310 meters). Anchored in limestone soils leaning toward loam, the vines thrive under ideal thermal shifts that secure vibrant aromatic definition. The manual harvest takes place in early October. In the cellar, fermentation and maceration run in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (26–27 °C) for 7 to 9 days. The aging blueprint is meticulously designed to offer fine tactile smoothness: the wine matures for 6 to 8 months in large French or Slavonian oak casks (20–40 Hl), followed by 2 months in stainless steel, and a final 2 to 3 months of bottle rest before its release.
