The Langhe DOC Nebbiolo by the iconic Elio Altare estate (La Morra) is a vibrant, fragrant, and gracefully accessible expression of Piedmont's premier red grape. Produced in a limited run of roughly 15,000 bottles annually, this wine brings together Nebbiolo fruit from mature vineyards aged 20 to 50 years across two prestigious communes: La Morra and Monforte d'Alba. Rooted in a mix of calcareous and sandy soils with prime South and South-East exposures, it achieves an ideal balance between lifted floral aromatics, bright red fruit, and refined structural poise. Cellar protocols highlight the winery's signature approach: a short 3-to-4-day skin maceration in temperature-controlled rotary fermenters to gently pull fruit purity and color while preserving soft textures. Maturation takes place for 5 months in neutral French oak barriques, ensuring the oak remains a subtle background frame for the pure Nebbiolo character. The resulting wine is juicy, vibrant, and remarkably supple on the palate.
