Elio Sandri

Langhe Nebbiolo 2024

SKU: P3935S

The Langhe Nebbiolo by Elio Sandri (Cascina Disa) is far more than a "declassified Barolo"; it stands as a high-definition, beautifully transparent expression of the grape in its most vibrant, fresh, and terroir-driven form. Sourced from the estate's historic grounds inside the Perno sub-zone of Monforte d'Alba, this wine originates from younger vines and specific rows thriving on clay-limestone marls enriched with fine sand. This geological profile allows the Nebbiolo to shed the dense, austere muscle of its older siblings, prioritizing immediate energy, razor-sharp tension, and pristine fruit clarity.

The cellar work remains fiercely loyal to Elio Sandri's signature ancestral, low-intervention manifesto. Fermentation triggers spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, followed by a skin-contact maceration that is carefully timed to capture varietal crunchiness rather than massive extraction. The wine then matures for roughly one year in large, neutral Slavonian oak casks (botti grandi) before being bottled. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it shuns modern industrial cosmetics to offer a pure, vertical, and incredibly mouthwatering Nebbiolo built for true Langhe purists.
