Chardonnay Educato 2025

The Langhe DOC Chardonnay "Educato" by Elio Grasso stands as one of the most sophisticated, age-worthy, and complex expressions of Chardonnay in the Langhe region. First crafted in 1990, this iconic white wine originates from high-altitude plots perched at 380–400 meters above sea level with East and South-East exposures and calcareous-sandy soils. The name "Educato" (meaning well-mannered or educated) reflects how seamlessly this international variety has adapted to and embraced Monforte d'Alba's distinctive terroir.

Sourced from mature vines averaging 45 years of age (trained via modified Casarsa system at 4,500 vines per hectare), the fruit is meticulously hand-harvested. Vinification and subsequent aging take place in French oak barriques, masterfully balanced to enhance body without masking varietal and site expression. The result is a luminous white featuring creamy texture, golden fruit, and brilliant mineral-driven acidity built for magnificent bottle evolution over many years.
