Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo 2025
The Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo by Tiberio is far more than a standard rosé; it is a world-class, structure-driven wine built with the soul of a red and the laser-sharp precision of a white. Crafted by Cristiana Tiberio in Cugnoli (Pescara), this legendary label stems from a 6-hectare vineyard perched at 350 meters above sea level. The core identity of this wine lies in its genetic heritage: 100% Montepulciano sourced from massal selection of historic biotopes. The vines thrive on limestone soils sitting over a solid sandstone bedrock, yielding fruit with a phenomenal balance of concentration and natural acidity.
Tiberio’s cellar philosophy is a tribute to purity and low-intervention winemaking. The manual harvest takes place in late September. The vinification protocol is exceptionally strict: no pressing is involved, as the free-run juice is obtained purely by gravity after a brief skin contact. Fermentation runs with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, and malolactic fermentation is deliberately avoided to lock in the grape's sharp, vertical freshness. To honor the raw integrity of the land, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, followed by a short rest in glass. The result is a high-definition Cerasuolo brimming with kinetic energy.
