The Brezanka by Rado Kocjančič stands out as an iconic, deeply authentic skin-contact white wine (orange wine) originating from the hills of Šmarje in Slovenian Istria (Slovenska Istra). Crafted from a traditional field blend featuring indigenous white varieties—dominated by Malvazija Istarska alongside Vitovska and local heritage grapes—the vines dig deep into ancient flysch soils (marl and sandstone).

Embracing low-intervention, natural winemaking principles, Rado subjects the hand-harvested fruit to a delicate skin maceration that yields a captivating amber hue, profound textural depth, and complex aromatics. Fermentation is entirely spontaneous with native yeasts, followed by aging in wooden casks without fining or filtration. "Brezanka" captures the interplay between the warm Mediterranean sun and the cooling sea breezes, delivering a rich, complex amber wine backed by vibrant salinity and dynamic tension.
