Barolo Villero 2022

SKU: P4097S

The Barolo DOCG 'Villero' by the legendary Brovia estate (Castiglione Falletto) stands as one of the most majestic, deeply structured, and age-worthy single-vineyard expressions in the entire Barolo zone. Sourced from a prized 1.5-hectare parcel within the historic 'Villero' cru in Castiglione Falletto—planted in 1961 on south/southwest-facing slopes rich in blue clay, limestone marls, and heavy minerals—this terroir imparts immense concentration, dark fruit intensity, and commanding tannic architecture to pure Nebbiolo.

Cellar practices strictly preserve Brovia's low-intervention traditional heritage: natural spontaneous fermentation driven by native yeasts in concrete vats, accompanied by extended submerged-cap macerations lasting 21 to 28 days. The wine undergoes a solemn maturation of approximately 24 months in large 30 hl Slavonian and French oak casks, followed by extended bottle refinement without fining or filtration. Brovia's Villero emerges as an austere, dark-toned, and chiseled masterpiece, defined by firm noble tannins, balsamic-mineral depth, and multi-decadal cellaring potential.
