Paolo Scavino

Barolo Monvigliero 2022

The Barolo "Monvigliero" by Paolo Scavino (today led with passion by Enrica and Elisa Scavino) stands out as an absolute masterclass in aromatics, finesse, and ethereal Nebbiolo elegance. Hailing from the world-renowned Monvigliero cru in Verduno, the vines thrive on prized white limestone-clay soils (Sant'Agata Fossili Marls) with optimal South/South-East exposure. This specific microclimate and soil profile allow the fruit to develop an unmatched aromatic matrix and remarkably silky tannins.

The Scavino family approaches Monvigliero with tailor-made precision and deep terroir respect. Following a meticulous manual harvest, the grapes undergo a controlled skin-contact fermentation to capture the purest, most elevated varietal precursors. The wine is then gracefully aged in oak to allow the structural tannins to polish, preserving the iconic floral and delicate spice notes of Verduno. The result is an aristocratic, ethereal Barolo boasting remarkable longevity and deep mineral tension.
