Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva 2021
The Montestefano Riserva is a true legend within the extraordinary lineup of the nine single-vineyard Lieux-Dits crafted by the renowned Produttori del Barbaresco cooperative. The grapes are sourced from the historic Montestefano hill, located just south of the village of Barbaresco, fully South-facing at an altitude of approximately 270 meters above sea level. This was the very first cru to be bottled as a single-vineyard wine in the region's history (back in 1961), proving its long-standing, exceptional reputation.
These Riservas are produced strictly in outstanding vintages. The cellar philosophy reflects unwavering classical rigor: temperature-controlled fermentation with extended skin maceration (around 30 days) and a traditional aging process of 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by extended bottle rest. Montestefano is famous for being the most "Barolo-like" cru in Barbaresco, where the natural grace of Nebbiolo seamlessly merges with impressive structural power and extraordinary longevity.
