Roero Riserva Valmaggiore 2022

Valmaggiore by Valfaccenda is more than just a wine; it is the pure essence of one of Roero’s most iconic hills. Crafted by Carolina Roggero and Luca Faccenda, this red comes from the Valmaggiore MGA (Vezza d’Alba), specifically from the Sola vineyard in the Audinaggio district. This is heroic viticulture: the original vines date back to 1947, and the extreme slopes allow only for manual labor, a daily commitment to the land.

The Valfaccenda philosophy is "Roero in colors": an approach that respects the vintage and the terroir without interference. The soil is sandy, and the exposure captures the full sun (Southeast, South, Southwest). Following spontaneous fermentation and aging in casks, the wine is bottled according to natural cycles during the waning moon of autumn. Only in vintages of particular merit does this Nebbiolo earn the "Riserva" designation, after nearly two years of bottle aging, offering a vibrant, profound, and authentic glass.
