Langhe Favorita 2025
The Favorita is a historic grape variety of the Langhe and Roero regions, closely related to Vermentino, which sisters Monica and Daniela Tibaldi interpret with a fresh, snappy, and beautifully clear varietal style. This wine is sourced from two selected vineyards located in the municipalities of Pocapaglia and Santa Vittoria d'Alba. Thanks to a perfect South and South-West exposure and an altitude ranging from 250 to 340 meters above sea level, the grapes benefit from excellent sunlight and temperature shifts that preserve their aromatic fragrance.
The vines are trained on trellises using the traditional Guyot pruning system. In the cellar, the winemaking philosophy focuses on championing fruit crunchiness and effortless drinkability. Grapes are meticulously hand-selected and harvested in small 20 kg crates to protect their integrity. To capture the precise identity of each plot, the fermentation of each individual vineyard takes place in separate vats at a controlled temperature of 14-15°C. Only later are the different components blended together, aging for a few months sur lie (on the fine lees) before bottling. This stylistic choice is essential to grant the wine greater structure, texture, and aromatic complexity, beautifully balancing the variety's naturally vibrant acidity.
