Barolo Vignarionda Riserva 2018

SKU: P2758S

If Barolo is the King of Wines, Vignarionda is its highest throne. Located at the summit of the Serralunga d’Alba hill at 360 meters above sea level, this vineyard is considered one of the most prestigious terroirs in the world. The Oddero family tends to less than one hectare here, with historic vines dating mostly back to 1972. This wine is born only in perfect vintages: production began in 1985, and since then, the family has chosen to skip less favorable years, reflecting an uncompromising commitment to quality.

The winemaking is an exercise in patience: following a long 28-day maceration, the wine ages for a remarkable 40 months in Austrian oak casks. The result is a monumental Barolo. The nose is a labyrinth of complexity: blackberries, citrus notes, and the fragrance of roses intertwine with balsamic hints of tobacco, cinchona bark, and wet limestone. On the palate, it reveals the full power of Serralunga, with dense, noble tannins, vibrant freshness, and a lifespan that spans decades. A highly limited production (approx. 3,000 bottles) for a profound and solemn sensory experience.
