Barolo Vigna Rionda Riserva 2019
The Vigna Rionda is not just a wine; it is the very history of the Massolino family and the pinnacle of Serralunga d’Alba's enological potential. First produced in 1982, this Cru is one of the most prestigious and sought-after in the world. On the Vigna Rionda hill, "something" special happens—a mysterious union of microclimate and medium-textured soil that gives life to a unique wine, one capable of defying time with unparalleled grace.
Production is handled with absolute dedication: grapes from vines reaching 50 years of age, traditional fermentation in oak vats at 30°C, and an extensive aging process involving 42 months in large Slavonian oak casks followed by an additional 24 months of bottle rest. It is the only wine in the range released only in its sixth year, fully justifying its Riserva title. It is a masterpiece of structure, longevity, and elegance that demands patience but rewards with an unforgettable sensory experience.
