Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2021

SKU: P3548S

The Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is the ultimate expression of an extreme and captivating terroir. Among the estate's oldest plots, these 65-year-old vines sit on a narrow strip of land overlooking the steep, wooded cliffs (the "Rocche") of Castiglione Falletto. Here, the bedrock surfaces through the rows, and the soil is so thin and loose that the vines must struggle for every drop of water—a stress that results in grapes of unparalleled concentration and finesse.

Production is tiny, with just over 2,500 bottles crafted through near-obsessive care in both the vineyard and cellar. After a solemn 30-month aging in 20-hectoliter oak casks, the wine reveals an aristocratic, balsamic profile. The nose enchants with notes of licorice, chocolate, and small red fruits, while the palate stands out for its incredibly sweet and enveloping tannins. This is a Barolo that thrives on grace and complexity, capable of aging gracefully for decades.
