Barolo Ornato 2022

The Barolo DOCG "Ornato" from the historic Palladino winery represents the highest quality and the most noble and monumental expression of the estate in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba. Sourced from the eponymous and highly renowned Ornato cru — unanimously considered one of the grand cru sites that are among the most historic and prestigious in the entire appellation, characterized by steep slopes and marine-origin marl-limestone soils rich in clay, silt and mineral sediments —, this wine embodies the quintessence of power, depth and a regal character capable of defying the decades.

Vinification strictly follows the dictates of the classic Langhe tradition: fermentation and long skin maceration in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, carried out with meticulous care to extract the complex phenolic texture of the terroir. Aging involves a stay of approximately 30-36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a prolonged and patient rest in the bottle. Palladino's Ornato thus reveals itself as an austere Barolo, deep, of immense structure, combining extraordinary textural richness with a vibrant mineral edge and legendary longevity.
