Barolo del Comune di Serralunga 2022
The Barolo DOCG from the Municipality of Serralunga d'Alba by the historic winery Palladino is one of the most rigorous, vertical, and authentic interpretations of one of the most powerful, austere, and distinguished terroirs in the entire denomination. Sourced from the estate vineyards located on the hills of Serralunga d'Alba — characterized by the typical and steep marl-limestone slopes rich in clay, silt, and limestone sediments of marine origin —, this wine embodies the quintessence of the Serralunga character: imposing structure, mineral depth, and a proud tannic backbone of extraordinary longevity.
The vinification follows the classic Langhe tradition with an approach aimed at preserving the integrity of the grape variety and the identity of the cru: fermentation and long maceration on the skins take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Aging continues for about 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by an appropriate period of rest in the bottle before release. The result is a Barolo of great substance, capable of combining significant textural richness with a sharp freshness and an unmistakable chalky-saline finish.
