Barolo Brunate 2020
The Barolo Brunate is a timeless classic, sourced from one of the most iconic and historic vineyards in the entire appellation. Poderi Oddero’s plot is a small gem of just 0.40 hectares, located at an altitude of 300 meters with an ideal South-East exposure. The vines, aged between 50 and 60 years, have been organically farmed since 2010 and produce grapes of unique concentration and nobility, thanks to extremely low yields.
The cellar work for this Cru borders on perfection: in the best vintages, the grapes are even destemmed by hand, berry by berry. After a 25-day maceration, the wine ages for 30 months in 20-hectoliter French oak casks, followed by a full year in the bottle. Oddero’s Brunate stands out for its ruby-garnet hue and a bouquet of rare elegance: intense notes of rose and violet blend with hints of wet earth and ripe red fruit. On the palate, the tannins are exceptionally long and sweet, promising a masterful evolution that will fully reveal itself only after many years.
