Barolo 2022

Cristina is both the last and the first of the Prandi family: the last of a lineage dating back to 1864, when her great-great-grandfather Teobaldo founded the winery in Barolo’s Piazza Cabutto; and the first because, rather than inheriting an established business, she built a new one from the ground up. For thirty years, her uncle Giuseppe—to whom she owes her training and values—had stopped bottling, causing the Prandi name to fade away just as Barolo was conquering the world stage.

Driven and strong-willed, Cristina reclaimed the family vineyards and in 2019, at just 21 years old, she released the first Prandi label after 36 years of silence. She practices organic farming across approximately 2 hectares, working without filtration or fining. Through spontaneous fermentations and a traditional approach, she allows the Nebbiolo and the terroir to speak for themselves.
