Domaine Des Petits Quarts

Anjou Blanc Mea Culpa 2023

SKU: P3195S

The history of Domaine des Petits Quarts begins in 1887, when the Godineau family settled in Faye-d’Anjou and dedicated itself to sweet and luscious white wines. Generation after generation, the estate grew and expanded its production. In the late 1980s, Jean-Pascal Godineau, of the fourth generation, took the helm, refocusing on sweet wines.
In 2004, it received international recognition: the Grain par Grain 1996 cuvée was named best sweet wine at the Mondial de Bruxelles. Since then, Bonnezeaux has become the symbol of the house, and its successes have multiplied, culminating in Jean-Pascal’s appointment as “Vigneron of the Year” in 2019.
The estate has become one of the leading names in the appellation, supported by a loyal and passionate team. In 2022, with no heirs, Jean-Pascal retired and entrusted the estate to four local families determined to preserve its traditions and ensure that Domaine des Petits Quarts continues to shine in France and around the world.

100% Chenin Blanc from the coteaux of Layon, with soils of sandstone, quartz, and Cenomanian materials.
Grapes are harvested by hand, undergo complete alcoholic fermentation in barriques without malolactic fermentation, and are aged on the lees for several months.

Brilliant yellow color; intense aromas of ripe yellow fruits (mirabelle plum, apricot, peach, quince) with woody and vanilla notes.
On the palate, it is structured, round, and opulent, enriched by its time in French oak.
