Casa Tallone

Roero Rosso DOCG 2023

SKU: P3572S

The Roero Rosso by Casa Tallone is the pure essence of Nebbiolo "climbing" the steep, sandy hills on the left bank of the Tanaro River. This wine carries the legacy of Cesare Tallone, the Impressionist painter who chose this farmhouse as his creative retreat in the 19th century. The logo—featuring an open door and green brushstrokes—tells the story of the Sacchetto brothers’ dream: turning the original four vine rows planted in 2013 into an organic project of excellence, recently awarded "Top Wine" by the 2025 Slow Wine Guide.

The winemaking follows the rhythms of nature: fermentation using a "Pied de cuve" of indigenous yeasts in cement tanks and a gentle 10-day maceration. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine rests for 12 months in oak and undergoes an additional year of bottle aging. The result is a red with a shifting ruby-to-garnet hue and a poetic bouquet of cherry, wild strawberry, and black pepper. On the palate, it is pure and luminous, with a slender body and snappy tannins that make the sip energetic, profound, and—as the producers like to say—downright "fun."
