The Story
Eduardo Garza, a talented winemaker from Priorat, produces refined wines from old Carignan and Grenache vines. His story, however, begins far away, in the mountains of Esquipulas in Guatemala, where he grew up on his family's coffee farm.
There, he developed a deep sensitivity to single-origin beverages and the importance of sustainable agriculture, learned by working on remote and steep land that requires care and precision.
Bringing this experience with him, Eduardo chose Priorat to dedicate himself to viticulture, combining respect for the land with the potential of old Carignan and Grenache vineyards.
His wines reflect passion, Guatemalan roots, and the excellence of a unique territory, leaving a distinctive mark on the international wine scene.
Wine obtained from a balanced blend of Grenache (44%), Carignan (30%), and Syrah (26%), from the vineyards of El Molar, El Lloar, and La Morera del Montsant. The grapes were destemmed without crushing, with separate 14–18-day fermentations and a pre-fermentation maceration of at least 24 hours. The pressing was slow and gentle; malolactic fermentation took place mainly in barriques.
Aged for 11 months in oak barrels (90% Quercus Petraea and 10% Quercus Alba), it was bottled in March 2022 in 4,279 bottles of 0.75 L, 44 Magnum, and 20 Jeroboam.
The wine clearly expresses the character of Priorat, focusing on freshness, moderate extraction, and the enhancement of primary aromas. On the palate, it is smooth, soft, and vibrant, inviting to drink thanks to its crispness.
