Nebbiolo d'Alba Superiore San Sebastiano 2024
The Nebbiolo d’Alba by Cascina Penna Currado is an ode to the patience and nobility of old vineyards. Produced from vines around 65 years old that embrace the Chapel of San Sebastiano in Monforte d’Alba, this wine benefits from a unique microclimate: the high altitude and cool breezes allow for a slow and late maturation, essential for shaping extremely fine tannins.
The vinification follows an ancestral rhythm: fermentation with indigenous yeasts begins after a natural wait of 8 days, followed by a long post-fermentation maceration of two weeks to extract all the soul of the territory. The 12-month aging, started in small Garbellotto barrels and continued in traditional large casks, delivers a wine with an intense garnet color and ethereal aromas of rose, violet, and forest fruits. On the palate, it is the emblem of elegance: slender, with silky tannins and a vibrant acidity that leads to a long, citrusy finish.
