Wachenheimer Gerümpel P.C 2024
The Gerümpel is a prestigious 13-hectare vineyard in Wachenheim, first recorded in official documents in 1429. Its name traces back to a 15th-century nobleman named Grympel. This site benefits from a unique microclimate characterized by frequent warm currents (Föhn effect), ensuring optimal grape ripening and health.
Geologically, Gerümpel shares a close affinity with the world-renowned Forster Pechstein site. The soil is composed of red and yellow variegated sandstone (Buntsandstein), which absorbs daytime heat and releases it gradually. This results in a Riesling with remarkable aromatic depth, a powerful structure, and a refined mineral backbone.
