Vecchio Samperi Perpetuo
Vecchio Samperi is the wine that restored dignity and prestige to the Marsala territory, reviving the ancient production method of the founding fathers before the advent of the fortified wine industry. Produced with 100% Grillo grapes from the historic Contrada Samperi, this wine is not fortified with alcohol; instead, it achieves its natural strength and complexity through the perpetual method.
The soul of this wine lies in time and skillful replenishment: each year, a small portion (5%) of younger wine is added to the wine already aging in oak and chestnut barrels. The result is an endless harmony, where the freshness of new vintages blends with the depth of wines that have rested in the cellar since 1980, the year of the first production.
