Nebbiolo d'Alba Cascinotto 2023

The Nebbiolo d’Alba Cascinotto was born from an ambitious vision: to create a "little Barolo" by applying the same philosophy and winemaking techniques used for Claudio Alario’s premier Barolo labels to grapes from Diano d’Alba. Tended with devotion for nearly forty years, this historic vineyard yields surprising quality each harvest, producing a wine whose structure, depth, and character rival those of its more famous counterparts.

The winemaking reflects Alario's signature style: 15 days of fermentation in temperature-controlled rotary fermenters, followed by significant aging for 18 months in French barriques (40% new). The result is a Nebbiolo of great authority, featuring a ruby-red hue with garnet reflections and an intense bouquet ranging from fresh flowers to wild berries. On the palate, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with velvety tannins that make it an excellent choice for those seeking the complexity of a great Piedmontese red in a more accessible yet equally noble form.
