Muscadet Sèvre & Maine Sur Lie La Grange 2024
Domaine Pierre Luneau-Papin, located in the village of Le Landreau just a few kilometers from Nantes, represents the aristocracy of the Muscadet region. The estate’s roots date back to the 18th century, when it was known as Domaine Pierre de la Grange and already renowned for the outstanding quality of its grapes. Today, this organic estate is managed with passion by Pierre-Marie Luneau, his wife Marie, and his parents Pierre and Monique.
The "La Grange" Vieilles Vignes 2024 cuvée is an organic white wine of extraordinary precision, sourced from old vines planted back in 1974 near the winery. The soils, featuring a distinct geological matrix of mica-schist and schist, impart an unmistakable mineral signature to the Melon de Bourgogne grape. Strictly hand-harvested, the grapes undergo tailored vinification: following a gentle whole-bunch pressing, fermentation begins spontaneously via indigenous yeasts. The wine then undergoes its traditional sur lie (on the lees) aging until the spring following the harvest in concrete vats, without any racking before bottling.
