Colli Tortonesi Timorasso Francesca 2024
The Marina Coppi winery, located in Castellania Coppi, is an artisanal benchmark within the Colli Tortonesi appellation. Founded in 2003 by Francesco Bellocchio (grandson of the legendary cycling champion Fausto Coppi) alongside his wife Anna, the estate is named after Francesco’s mother, Marina. The family’s winemaking philosophy seamlessly blends deep respect for biodiversity and local traditions with flawless technical precision, focusing on championing the region's king grape: Timorasso.
The "Francesca" 2024 stands as one of the estate’s signature labels. This 100% Timorasso is sourced from selected vineyards nestled on the limestone-marl hills of Castellania, characterized by the famous Sant'Agata Marls. The 2024 vintage delivers remarkable definition in the glass: vinified strictly in stainless steel tanks under temperature control, the wine undergoes an extended aging period on its fine lees (sur lie). This approach safeguards the grape's trademark, razor-sharp acidity while granting the wine a deep, dense texture and early multilayered complexity.
