Bukkuram Sole d'Agosto 2023

The Sole d'Agosto is born in the historic Contrada Bukkuram, whose name in Arabic means "father of the vineyard". This Passito represents the fresher and more immediate soul of Pantelleria, produced from Zibibbo vineyards ranging between 40 and 55 years old. Cultivated with the traditional alberello pantesco (head-trained) system on terraced volcanic soils, these vines defy wind and sun to deliver a nectar of extraordinary concentration.

The winemaking follows an ancient and meticulous ritual: one part of the grapes dries in the sun on specific lava stone drying floors, while the rest ripens on the vine until September. The resulting wine is then macerated for about three months with hand-destemmed raisins, which slowly release sugars, color, and their unmistakable aromatic bouquet.
