Barolo Vite Talin is more than just a wine; it is the story of a natural miracle and the boundless patience of one man: Luciano Sandrone. It all began in 1987 in a vineyard overlooking the castle of Barolo, leased from an elderly farmer named Natale, known as "Talin". Among the rows, Luciano spotted a unique vine: smaller, with jagged leaves and tiny clusters of deep blue berries. Rather than uprooting it to conform the vineyard, Luciano chose to protect, study, and graft it, discovering a Nebbiolo expression of extraordinary power and concentration.
The production of Vite Talin is a ritual of extreme precision. Following anaerobic maceration and fermentation in 50-hectoliter vertical wooden vats, the wine begins a monumental aging journey: two years in French oak tonneaux (over 50% new, to support the massive tannic structure), followed by one year in oval casks, and three years of bottle aging. It makes its debut only six years after the harvest. The result is a Barolo of unparalleled extract, perfect acid balance, and a depth that redefines the boundaries of Nebbiolo. An absolute rarity, it is the guardian of a genetic mystery that has become legend.
