Barolo Villero 2021
The Barolo "Villero" by Giacomo Fenocchio is a wine of extraordinary nobility and exclusivity, produced in a limited run of just 5,000 bottles per year. The grapes are sourced from a single hectare in the heart of the historic Villero cru in Castiglione Falletto. The true distinction lies in the vines, which average 65 years of age—historic plants whose roots run deep into Helvetian soils rich in iron, clay, and limestone, enjoying an ideal South-West exposure.
Faithful to the family’s deeply traditionalist philosophy, Fenocchio uses an uncompromising approach: natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a very long 40-day maceration on the skins. The wine then matures for 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks (35 to 50 hl). The result is a monumental Barolo where the power of the terroir and the complexity of centenarian vines merge into a sip of rare elegance and longevity.
