Conterno Fantino

Barolo Mosconi Vigna Ped

SKU: P3020S

Barolo Mosconi "Vigna Ped" is a bold and aristocratic expression of the Monforte d’Alba territory. Perched at a significant altitude between 380 and 410 meters, the Vigna Ped vineyard benefits from full southern exposure and a calcareous, silty soil resting on ancient Sant’Agata Fossil Marls. This Cru is a temporal mosaic: the oldest part of the vineyard was planted in 1950, yielding grapes with a depth and complexity that only seventy-year-old vines can provide.

The winemaking follows Conterno Fantino's signature high standards, featuring maceration in stainless steel followed by malolactic fermentation and careful aging in French oak. The "Vigna Ped" stands out for its imposing structure and dense tannic texture—typical of the Mosconi designation—yet it is always balanced by a vibrant freshness derived from its high elevation. Notes of dark fruits, damp earth, and noble spices make this a Barolo of great character and extraordinary aging potential. A limited production of approximately 6,000 bottles.
