Barolo Margheria 2021
Margheria is an MGA in Serralunga that stands out within the Barolo landscape for its extraordinary elegance and sophistication. The vineyard holds significant historical value, with vines dating back to 1959, spanning 1.5 hectares with a perfect Southern exposure. These old vines, rooted in limestone-clay soil at 340 meters above sea level, yield grapes capable of translating Serralunga’s legendary power into a glass of extreme class.
In the cellar, Luigi Pira follows the path of purest tradition. After a fermentation in stainless steel for about 18–20 days, the wine undergoes traditional aging: 24 months in large 25-hl Slavonian oak casks. This winemaking approach aims to preserve the verticality and expressive purity of the Nebbiolo, avoiding aromatic interference and allowing the cru to express itself with naturalness and depth.
