Barolo Marenca 2021
Barolo Marenca originates from one of the most famous and esteemed subzones of Serralunga d’Alba. The vineyard, planted in 1990 on limestone-clay soils at an altitude of 350 meters, benefits from a privileged South/Southwest exposure. These conditions allow the Nebbiolo to develop significant structure and a high-intensity aromatic profile, resulting in a wine that is synonymous with strength and character.
In the cellar, winemaking aims to tame and elevate this vigorous material: after fermentation in stainless steel, the Marenca ages for 24 months. The maturation process involves 500-liter French oak tonneaux for the first year, essential for softening the tannic texture, followed by a second year in traditional large Slavonian oak casks. The result is a powerful, intriguing Barolo with extraordinary aging potential.
