Barolo Kidì 2020

In the Langa region, producing Barolo represents the ultimate ambition for any vintner, demanding significant physical effort and extreme attention to detail. The name chosen for this wine, Kidì, is a coined term that phonetically recalls the Piedmontese dialect word for "nurtured" or "looked after" (accudito). It reflects the belief that while the land provides the fruit, only meticulous human dedication can transform it into the "king of wines."

The winemaking follows tradition, with the must remaining in contact with the skins for approximately 30 to 40 days. By employing the submerged cap technique, maceration is extended beyond the alcoholic fermentation phase to optimize the extraction of polyphenols and tannins. Subsequently, the wine ages in large oak casks for at least 18 months.

The result is a Barolo with an extraordinarily complex bouquet, where ripe and persistent tannins create a velvety structure and an enviable personality. The winery's goal is to encapsulate within every sip of this "classic" Barolo the same precision and care that characterized a past, less hurried era.
