Barolo Ginestra Vigna Sorì Ginestra
The Sorì Ginestra is the pure, sun-drenched soul of the Conterno Fantino winery. Located within the prestigious Ginestra cru in Monforte d’Alba, this vineyard boasts full southern exposure—"Sorì" in Piedmontese dialect refers to the sunniest hillsides—and a white, calcareous, silty soil. The vines, planted between 1971 and 1998, reach deep into the famous Sant’Agata Fossil Marls, a terrain that provides the Nebbiolo with monumental structure paired with unparalleled aromatic finesse.
Since its inaugural vintage in 1982, this Barolo has stood out for its ability to blend the typical power of Monforte with modern complexity. Winemaking involves fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation and extensive aging in French oak. The result is a wine of extraordinary breadth: a profound Barolo with noble, velvety tannins, capable of aging for decades while evolving into balsamic and spicy notes. A limited production of approximately 12,000 bottles for a globally acclaimed masterpiece.
