Barolo Galina 2020
Barolo Galina is the sun-drenched, velvety expression of one of La Morra’s most prestigious slopes. Crafted entirely from Nebbiolo Michet clone, this wine hails from a 0.8-hectare vineyard with a unique heritage: a blend of vigorous vines planted in 2014 and the profound extractive depth of historic vines dating back to 1950. The full Southern exposure and clay-limestone soil, with deep marl layers, provide the perfect conditions for a Barolo of extraordinary substance and warmth.
The winemaking follows the patient rhythms of tradition, featuring a four-week maceration to extract the complex aromatic profile of the Michet clone. The wine ages for 18-24 months in large, untoasted 43 HL Slavonian oak casks, a technical choice designed to preserve the absolute purity of the fruit. A further 24 months of bottle rest in the estate's underground cellars completes the process, resulting in a high-quality wine capable of evolving gracefully for over 25 years.
