Barolo Cerretta 2022

Barolo Cerretta marks an exciting new chapter for the Claudio Alario winery. Starting with the 2022 vintage, the collection expands to include this prestigious Cru from one of the most renowned vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba. Here, the soil—characterized by the famous Lequio Formations, rich in limestone and silt—imparts a solid, vigorous, and profoundly austere character to the Nebbiolo, typical of the great wines from this village.

Alario’s philosophy blends technical precision with the raw power of the terroir: after a 15-day fermentation in temperature-controlled rotary fermenters, the wine begins a structured aging process to refine Serralunga's natural energy. It rests for 12 months in French barriques (50% new) to gain complexity, followed by 12 months in large oak casks for harmony, and a final 12 months in the bottle. The result is a Barolo with an intense ruby hue, a nose full of ripe fruit, and an enveloping palate that leads into a long, exceptionally persistent finish.
