Oltrepò Pavese Moscato Grappa

TheOltrepo Pavese is that strip of hills south of the Po River known for being the meeting point of four regions: Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, and Emilia-Romagna. Marl, sandstone limestone, and gypsum, as well as sand and clay, are the main components of this land, which since the time of Strabo has been considered a region for producing quality wines. It was Depretis who fully developed its sparkling wine vocation. The Moscato Bianco grape has certainly been grown in Oltrepo for many centuries, but the Controlled Designation of Origin dates back to 1970. The Oltrepo Pavese vineyards yield pomace rich in all the aromatic nuances of Moscato which, subjected to gentle pressing, controlled fermentation, and slow distillation in a batch pot still in a water bath, give rise to this grappa, which is aged in Allier and Limousin oak barriques..

COLOR: brilliant golden yellow.

AROMA: intense and rich, with a palpable impact of acacia honey, beeswax, and jasmine hedge.

FLAVOR: an almost creamy density that combines delicacy and warmth while enhancing powerful notes of roasted hazelnut, white chocolate, and butter cookies.
